Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right DPI?
Image resolution, or DPI, is the amount of information captured when scanning your photos. The higher the resolution, the more information is captured, and the better the image looks when enlarged.
If you are simply sharing your photos with friends and family online, then the DPI doesn't need to be high. If you plan on editing your photos, enlarging and printing them, or storing them for archival purposes, then we recommend you use a higher DPI setting.
How do I choose the right image format?
For most cases JPEG is adequate. JPEG is a very common lossy (where certain information about the image is removed, or lost) compression method used for photos. Love My Pics creates JPEG images at the highest quality setting, so the images can be used for most purposes without any drawbacks.
Users who require the highest quality images may go for TIFF images. TIFF images use lossless image compression, so no information about the image is lost. The trade off is that TIFF image files are very large, and require a lot of disk space. We only recommend TIFF for professionals, and people who know that it is definitely the image format they require.
How will you return my photos?
When you complete our online order form, we ask which shipping method you prefer. We can return your photos using Express or Registered post through Australia Mail. We recommend Registered post, so that you can track your package.
Why do I only pay once the order is completed?
You only pay once the order is completed so we can charge you for the return postage at the same time. Return postage is calculated on the size and weight of the return package, and cannot be estimated when you place your order.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Love My Pics accepts Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Bank Transfers.
